Rent The Runway

This past weekend my husband and I attend the Junior League of Nashville Masquerade Ball. This was my first black tie event to attend, so needless to say I was so excited to get all dress up and attend "adult prom!" For this event I wanted a dress that was unlike anything I have worn before and since it was black tie it had to be floor length and formal. I searched for a while for a dress I liked that was affordable and then remembered Rent the Runway. If you don't know what this website is go now and sign up to get $25 off your first rental. They carry a wide array of dresses from Lilly Pulitzer to Herve Leger! You can get a formal dress or a short fun cocktail dress.

Here's how RTR works- you pick out a dress you like, and just incase you don't know what size you wear you get to select 2 sizes for free. You get the dress for 4 days and then you have to mail it back. My dress wasn't available until Thursday so it definitely had to fit since I wouldn't have had much time to get a new one. I got it in Thursday and luckily it fit perfect, I wore it out Friday night and then put both dresses back in the prepackaged UPS envelope that came with the rental and mailed it back! I definitely will be using this site again for other events. Here are some pictures from this weekend and I am wearing a dress by BCBGMAXAZRIA.

Spring trends for your man

Last week I was asked by an employee at Paul Fredrick to do a post about Spring trends for guys!Paul Fredrick offers men's apparel including everything from shirts pants, to hats. It's funny how old trends always seem to come back around! Here are some popular trends and some of my favorite picks!

RETRO- Speaking of old trends becoming new I'm loving the retro look of the 40's 50's collars on button ups. This look is so tailored and polished and go perfect with the pompadour hair cut; short on the side and long on the top (so cute)

BLUES-  Blue hue's are everywhere for girls and guys. Normally pastels are big for spring but this year there are several shades of blues that are making a big hit! Along with blues, pants are getting a little looser for guys and more of a relaxed chino as opposed to a slimfit!

1.       2.      3.     4.

FLORALS- Now this is one trend you will not find my husband in, but apparently it's coming in strong! From ties, to shirts, and short, florals for men are everywhere!

1.     2.     3.     4.

LEATHER BAGS- leather bags are always a timeless piece and masculine enough to not be considers a "murse"ha! These are great for a work bag or an overnight trip.

Clockwise 1.      2.      3.     4.

Head over to the Paul Fredrick website to see their full breakdown!

Wicked

I have always wanted to see Wicked and am so excited that this week I am finally getting to see it! I never know what to wear to a "Broadway" play because you don't want to wear jeans and be too casual but then again it's not that dressy to be super formal. This post I've picked out a Glenda look as well as a Elphaba outfit in honor of seeing the show!

Stella and Dot Trunk Show!

I am so excited to be teaming up with a friend to host my 1st online Stella & Dot trunk show. If you know me you know I am usually wearing some piece of jewelry from Stella & Dot. I have loved their jewelry for years but the recent new additions of bags and scarves make it that much more exciting!

So as far as the trunk show goes you can RSVP HERE you can order at any time until March 26! Something even more exciting for the month of March is when you spend $50 you get 50% off anything of the items on the list below. What a steal right?! I know I will be getting the navy ikat tote for sure!

Now let's get to the top Spring 2014 items from Stella and Dot. The 10 spring must have items are so versatile and can be dressed up or down!

1. Palm Springs scarf $59- can we talk about how gorgeous this scarf is! I love their scarves because you can wear them so many different ways. Here is the scarf paired up with the HANNAH CHANDELIER EARRINGS.

2/3- This NORAH PENDANT necklace is such a statement piece and the way it's paired with navy and yellow accenting the DOUBLE CLUTCH is perfect!

4. I love this Milana necklace. I literally wear mine all of the time. What makes this necklace so great is it can be worn in 2 ways! The tassel adds a little spice to the necklace but without it's a great everyday piece!

5. This JACKIE LINK bracelet is a great piece to be layered with the AMELIA GOLD SPARKLE and RENEGADE CLUSTER.

5/6/7- This look pairs all 3 pieces together so well! I think this would also go perfect with a little black dress!

8. The SARDINA CHANDELIER earrings are a top fav of mine. I love that you can wear these earrings 3 different ways! This pair of earrings gives you the most bang for you buck!

9. The SARDINA BRACELET is a perfect pair with the SARDINA necklace. And just like the earrings the necklace can be work in several ways!

10. THE GETAWAY is a great bag for overnight or for traveling. This bag and unzip and expand to allow more room to carry things. And if you are like me you tend to carry way too much in a bag when you travel so this will store it all!

I hope you find more than 10 things that you love from Stella and Dot so make sure to browse the website for more items! If you have any questions or would like to host a trunk show of your own make sure to contact. Melissa Gruver at mmgruver@gmail.com and dont forget to RSVP and shop HERE !
