Easter Attire!

I know I'm 26 but that doesn't stop me from looking forward to my Easter attire. Every year since I was little we always went shopping for an Easter dress. Blame my mom for me being the way I am but I say "Thank you mom!" Our Easter outfits were extremely elaborate with matching socks, hair bows, bloomers, and earrings! Here is a "casual" Easter photo when I was a child.... (and yes that's a perm)

Anyhow back to Easter attire shopping. Here are 2 looks that I've put together that would be perfect for a sunny Sunday at church celebrating our risen savior!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Luke 24:
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

Spring Break....

This past weekend my husband and I spent the weekend hosting some "wild" spring breakers. Probably the wildest guests we've ever had...

KIDS!

My sister brought all 3 girls up for the night! Ryan and I keep a normally clean house that is very organized. Well for 1 night we let the house be chaos and the kids run wild! The weekend included the zoo, nail painting, hours of hide and seek, dancing in the living room, popcorn, pizza, a whole box of Capri Suns, and finally ending with a breakfast of pink pancakes! We had so much fun with our little guests but definitely are not ready to have kids of our own. Oh the joys of being an aunt and uncle!

Which shoe is the more expensive of the two....

If you guess the one on the right then you're correct! I saw the shoe on the left in Target the other day and fell in love with them. While online browsing on Nordstrom I came across the shoe on the right and was shocked at how similar they were! The target version is really comfortable and for almost $60 cheaper they are a great steal! Plus black and brown are very versatile!

Celebrate your 1st day of Spring with a new pair of wedges =)

Birchbox!

If you don't know what Birchbox is then you are definitely missing out! I was introduced to this wonderful thing last year from my old roommate. If you are like me and love products you will surely love this. Even if you don't like products it's fun to get this little package in the mail each month. Here are pictures from my March Birchbox:

Here is how Birchbox works. You pay $10 a month and get samples of all kinds of items. I've gotten perfume samples, lip glosses, eye shadows, mascara, shampoo, etc... It really is like Christmas each month and I anxiously await what I will get! Even if I get things I don't really want or need it's still so fun! A bonus is there are no long term commitments. I pay month to month so if you ever want to stop getting them you just cancel it! Try it out for 2 months and let me know what you think! These make the perfect gift as well. Also there is a new Men's Birchbox!

Crafts with the Changs!

I love doing random crafts whether it's making a wreath, adding a little something extra to a picture frame, or taking apart old jewelry and redoing it. However when I got married I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would also marry someone who loves "crafts." And I put "crafts" in quotes because it's more like AMAZING woodwork.

A few weeks after Ryan and I got married he decided he wanted to build us a nesting table to go in our redecorated living room. I didn't really think much of it until I saw the final result..

It's awesome right?!

Well it didn't stop there for him. We have been redecorating many of the rooms since I moved in because they were too "boy" for me. I decided that I want a craft room to be able to put my skills to use too. Here are 2 new additions to my craft room:

I don't have a lot of things on the table nor have I found a chair I love but I did take my sewing machine out of the box. Taking it out of the box was a BIG step considering I have had it since Christmas 2009 and never used it. I am planning to learn to sew and want to make curtains, blankets, hem pants and all kinds of things!

On the opposing wall from my new craft table is this piece:

I have to say this is my favorite piece Ryan made. It's amazing and looks so much like anything you would see at Pottery Barn or Ballard Design. He is so unbelievable talented and I cannot describe how proud of him I am for all of his work!

While we are on the subject of crafts here are 2 wreaths that I recently made. One for a friends baby shower, and the other has been on our door since January. I'm in process of making a new Easter wreath and will post that too!

This wreath was made from burlap, gingham ribbon, fake flowers, a stuffy elephant, and paci!

This is our winter wreath, really simple but has been so cute for the time being. All of these crafts to say Ryan and I are thinking about creating an Etsy page and selling customized pieces. I'll put the wreaths under my "crafts" page with prices. Once we make a final decision about selling our crafts I'll let you all know!

Hope you all have a great week =)

My favorite jeans...

       1. Loft Skinny     2. Paige Finnley Straight   3. Gap Sexy Boot   4. Loft Color Pop Skinny

                                 5. Jcrew Toothpick                                      6. Hudson Collin Skinny

I am not super tall, 5'6 but I have long legs and wide hips. Jeans use to be the most miserable thing for me to shop for: they always gapped in the back, were too short, or constantly falling down. NOT ANYMORE! I love jeans, and basically I wear them everyday. I'm lucky enough to work at an office that allows this so that's a major plus! Everyone has their vice to what they like to spend money on and jeans are mine. Well to be honest I have several, but jeans are the most prevalent. I have no problem dropping $150+ on a pair of jeans that are the perfect fit, but I've found you don't always have to spend that much. I worked at a boutique for 3 1/2 year and went to market in NYC and Atlanta. At market you see a million and 1 pairs of jeans but the most important thing is finding a line that will fit all body types.

These 6 jeans above are some of my favorites.
1. Super cute for spring/summer. And with prints being so big for the spring trend you won't regret purchasing these. Especially for $59! They are slim in the thighs and long enough to hit right at the ankle. Perfect with flats or heels to dress them up!

2. Paige Finnley are a great pair of soft stretchy denim. These come in about $180 depending on where you get them. They are really long (too long for me) but I bought them to wear cuffed up. They are so comfortable to travel in or wear out!

3. Gap sexy boot, definitely inexpensive and still pretty good quality. I don't wear boot cut jeans that often but this is my go to pair (after my favorite 7 for all mankind) They are long enough to wear with a high heel and the rise is high enough were they cover up any "muffin top"- ha!

4. Loft again...and to be honest I own these jeans in 3 different colors. It also helps that they run big so I got to size down (always a plus). These jeans stretch out so that also makes sizing down more important. Very reasonable and Loft always runs sales!

5. Jcrew makes great jeans and usually they are pretty reasonable. However I normally wouldn't spend $125 on colored jeans but this was my 1st pair and I had a coupon. They are very slimming and fit perfect with no gapping in the back. They hit right above the ankles too.

6. These are my newest pair of jeans and they were a great purchase! Especially because I got them at Nordstrom Rack for 40% off! These jeans fit great tucked in boots but are also cute with flats. Downside they kind of gap in the back, I still love them though!
